08 Joint Design Nº 13

I drilled holes in the bottom of the legs. First I drilled a 1/4 inch pilot hole, then I drilled a larger 3/8 inch hole, and finally, a 1/2 inch hole. I did the same thing on both legs. Click on any image to enlarge it.

This is my drill bit with a pair of vise grip pliers clamped on it. The pliers made it easier to twist the drill bit into the leg.

These are the tops of the legs, which I have carved out with my paring knife.

It looks like I may have to do some symmetry work on the legs.
