08 Joint Design Nº 189

I am trying out the 32mm diameter carving wax balls on the ankles. Click on any image to enlarge it.

I am going to have to lower the ball into the foot, as well as allow some of the ball to go into the lower leg in order to get the leg to be the right height overall.

I am going to play with this some more. I like the idea of playing when I design. Sure, I am also analytical, but I try not to allow all my measuring to get in the way of play. I try, but I'm not always successful. Nevertheless, it is important to try. I know what I want, but I'm not quite sure how to get there? I may very well end up at point C when I am trying to go from point A to point B. This post shows where point A is. I have a vague idea where point B is. I have no idea where point C is. Play is all about allowing myself to take a turn into the unknown, and to not be too attached to point B. During this process, I must allow myself some room to fail. I must allow myself some room to make mistakes. Isn't it exciting? Yeah, this is the glamor of doll making.
