08 Joint Design Nº 213

I picked up the right upper arm today and did some carving on the elbow socket with my paring knife. The top photo shows the carving I did. Then, in the middle photo I tried the 2mm hard rubber ball in the socket, to see how it would look. It fits inside the elbow nicely. This is the same ball that I am using for the wrist joint, but on the wrist, it is supposed to fit to the outside line of the arm, not the inside line. The bottom photo shows the 24mm marble in the socket. It is amazing how much bigger just 2mm looks in the socket. I was thinking before of using the marble for the elbow ball joint, but now I am undecided. Indecision is the bane of my doll making existence. Click on the image to enlarge it.
