08 Joint Design Nº 294

Today I worked on the elbow joints of the lower arms, trying to make them more alike each other. I did not take any snapshots of the elbows. Then I worked on the left hip joint, cutting a slot. I started by drilling a hole. Then I scribed some lines where I wanted to cut the slot. Click on any image to enlarge it.

I used a little V-gouge to remove carving wax from the slot. Then I used my X-Acto knife and my paring knife to finish it and do some trimming.

I re-strung the leg and tried it out. As usual, I am sneaking up on it, little by little.

I think that I can cut the slot a little bit longer? I'll keep testing it.
