08 Joint Design Nº 309

I was restringing the foot, and when I hooked the elastic to the S-hook and let go of it, it flew into the lower leg like a paperclip being shot from a rubber band. The photo below shows the damage done. Click on any image to enlarge it.

The broken pieces of carving wax were caught in the project tray. I was able to fit them back in their place.

I used my wax pen to weld the pieces back onto the ball joint, and I used my paring knife to shave off the excess carving wax that was the result of filling the weld with scrap pieces of carving wax. This is a minor setback, and using carving wax makes a repair like this easy to do.
