08 Joint Design Nº 479

I worked on the forehead, trying to remove a dent I noticed between the brows above the nose. I think I have made it somewhat better, that is, reduced the dent a little bit? First, I sanded with 60-grit sandpaper, to show where the low spot was. Then I used the wax pen to fill in the low spot with a piece of scrap carving wax. When that cooled and hardened, I used the paring knife to scrape off the excess carving wax (not shown). Then I sanded again, to see if I did anything. Click on any image to enlarge it.

The actual work is practice, practice and more practice: adding, subtracting, and smoothing repeatedly. ~ Martha Armstrong-Hand (4 July 1920 - 22 October 2004)
